Photoshop Tips: Create your own edge or border on your photos

Creating your own edge or border around an image is easy to do in Photoshop.


Open the photo you will be working with.

Duplicate the background layer - this automatically renames it into Background copy.

Fill the background layer with white or any colour you want .

 

Used the Marquee tool to make a selection on the layer called Background copy.

Add a layer mask (this will take your selection and make it into a mask)

Make sure you have the Layer Mask selected before you do the next step.

Use a filter of choice, for example the glass filter

Finished! You can remove the white background layer if you wish.
