Case Study - Town of Killam

The Challenge

The Town of Killam were searching for someone to give their website some much needed maintenance. Their website had become out of date and the office staff could not easily update it. They chose Vital Effect from a number of applicants. Our challenge was to use much of their existing content and features from their old website and create a new up-to-date solution with improved usability, a more pleasing professional look and more useful features. They also wanted a simple way to keep their content fresh, without having to spend a lot of money.

The Solution

Our solution gave them everything they wanted and more. We redesigned the Town of Killam website from scratch. Using our Website Manager, they can continue to maintain and update the content on their website without the need to continuously pay for maintenance. The Website Manager includes tools such as a file uploader, statistics and backups.  We also gave them a new, fresh and professional look with improved navigation and an animated Flash header. The addition of an events calendar, weather button and map also added to the overall appeal and effectiveness of the website.

The Impact

The Town of Killam was extremely happy with the results we provided to them. Our Website Manager has made it possible to keep their website up-to-date and save costs, since all the updating is done by office staff. Their website has become an informative and valuable tool for the residents of Killam as well as anyone from outside the community looking for information.
